Refunds
Direct Deposit is the fastest, simple, safe and secure way to receive your refund money. Have it electronically deposited for free into your financial account. You can deposit your refund into one, two or even three different accounts. Even if you don’t have a checking account, some mobile apps and prepaid debit cards allow for direct deposit of tax refunds. They must have routing and account numbers associated with them that can be entered on a tax return. Check with the mobile app provider or financial institution to confirm which numbers to use.there are other options available for direct deposit. Direct deposit is even available for returns filed after their due date.
All Taxpayers should have an online account on IRS.gov to make simple and secure payments, get transcripts among other things.

IRS provides relief for wildfires in California:
Various deadlines postponed to Oct. 15, 2025
The Internal Revenue Service announced today tax relief for individuals and businesses in parts of California affected by wildfires and straight-line winds that began on Jan. 7, 2025. Taxpayers in affected areas now have until October 15,2025, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments. 2024 individual and corporate returns and quarterly estimated tax payments. This includes 2024 individual and business returns normally due during March and April 15, 2025 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ‘s current list of eligible localities is available on the IRS.gov Tax relief in disaster situations page.

Eligible individuals and businesses affected by various disasters that occurred during the late spring through the end of 2024 in the entire states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and parts of Alaska, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia will have until May 1, 2025, to file their 2023 and 2024 tax returns however,payments on the 2023 tax year returns are not eligible for the additional time to pay since they were originally due last spring before any of these disasters occurred. The 2024 individual and business returns normally due during March and April 15, 2025 will have until May 1,2025 to pay any tax due. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ‘s current list of eligible localities is available on the IRS.gov Tax relief in disaster situations page.
SCAM ALERTS:
Get a 2025 IP PIN from the IRS to protect against someone filing a false tax return on you or filing your dependent(s).
An identity protection PIN (IP PIN) is a six-digit number that prevents someone else from filing a tax return using your Social Security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN). The IP PIN is known only to you and the IRS.
- Spouses and dependents are eligible for an IP PIN if they can pass the identity verification process.
- Once you have opted in and obtained an IP PIN online, you will need to retrieve your IP PIN online each calendar year as a CP01A Notice will not be mailed.
- The IP PIN is generally available in your Online Account.,starting in mid-January through mid-November.
- You can request one by mail by filing IRS Form 15227
Make sure to include your IP PIN on your 2024 tax return, so that the IRS will accept it and reject any fakes filed with your SSN..
Taxpayers can report abusive tax schemes using:
- Form 14242, Report Suspected Abusive Tax Promotions or Preparers PDF, to report a suspected abusive tax avoidance scheme and tax return preparers who promote such schemes.
- The complaint form located at Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration or by calling 800-366-4484.
